New at AMERICANA 2025: ERCHA Cow Horse Derby

For the first time, AMERICANA will host the ERCHA Cow Horse Derby
January 08, 2025

For the first time, AMERICANA 2025 will host the ERCHA Cow Horse Derby. “Reined Cow Horse shows all the versatility of the western horse in a single discipline,” says Show Manager Sandra Quade. “The horses have to show elements from reining and cutting and finally master the cattle 'down the fence'. When shown to perfection, cow horse is a wonderful western sport that places high demands on the skills of horse and rider. Cow Horse has been closely associated with AMERICANA for many years - with the Derby we are once again focusing on our fourth sporting pillar, and I am very pleased about that!”

Reining, Ranch Horse, Cutting and Cow Horse – Top Finals in the evening shows

In 2025, AMERICANA will once again live up to its reputation as one of the most important shows in Europe. Over the five days of the show, the championship titles in around 50 classes and prize money of around 200,000 euros will be up for grabs. This event has achieved worldwide significance in particular through its Reining Bronze Trophy, the Cutting Championship and the Cow Horse classes - the first ERCHA Futurity took place here in 2000. AMERICANA is also one of the highlights for the increasingly popular ranch horse classes. During the days of the fair, visitors can watch a large number of competitions in the big show arena. However, the finals of the major reining, cutting, ranch horse and cow horse classes are only held in the evening shows. Tickets should be secured in good time - especially for Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6. Because in these two big evening shows there will be great show acts in addition to the sport. The ticket store is online: https://shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/americana-ticketshop.

However, sport is only one side of AMERICANA. What attracts thousands of horse people and especially Western fans every time, is the unique mix of trade fair, top-class sport and entertainment. Everything focuseson the Western way of life and the Western horse. Around 300 exhibitors from all over Europe regularly come to present their goods. Here you can meet trainers, breeders and the big stars of the scene. However, not only western riders, but horse lovers in general will find what they are looking for at the sales stands and the various forums (including a health forum).
